Day 1: ATHENS

Arrival Athens, meet and transfer to your hotel (D)

Day 2: ATHENS-CORINTH

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the most important sites of this glorious city including the Acropolis and Mars Hill. Continue to Ancient Corinth where Apostle Paul preached and lived for two years. You will visit the ruins of the ancient city where Paul worked with Aquila and Priscilla. See the remains of the first century shops, the agora where Paul’s trial by Gallio took place, the Fountain of Peirene, Temple of Apollo and the Bema. Return to Athens for dinner and overnight.(B,D)

 

 

 Day 3: DELPHI-METEORA

Drive to Delphi, considered the navel (omphalos) of the ancient world. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pithios. Visit the site and the museum. Continue to Meteora, the unusual rock formations on which nestle the old monasteries, constituting a unique spectacle. Visit two of the oldest Monasteries. Dinner and overnight in Kalambaka. (B,D)

Day 4: THESSALONIKI

After breakfast, we drive northbound and passing from Amphipolis we arrive in Thessaloniki. Paul preached in Thessaloniki during the winters of 49-50 AD and wrote two epistles to the ancient Thessalonians. See the ramparts of the city, the triumphal Arch of Galerius starting at the Via Egnatia, once a strategic artery of the Roman Empire. Tour includes panoramic view of some Byzantine churches, the Rotonda, St. Demetrios Church, the ancient walls and the Agora. Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki(B,D)

Day 5: KAVALA-PHILIPPI

After a scenic 2 hours drive we arrive in Philippi. Here Paul baptized a certain woman named Lydia, the first Christian convert in Europe. The Roman forum, completely excavated, is from after Paul’s time. Among the ruins, located on the rocky ledge above the town’s main road is the prison where Paul and Silas were thrown. Next stop is the modern port city of Kavala, ancient Neapolis, where Paul accompanied by Silas, Luke and Timothy, first entered Europe. Continue eastbound to Alexandroupolis, just 40 km from Greece/Turkey borders, for dinner and overnight (B,D)

Day 6: BORDER CROSSING-ISTANBUL

After breakfast we start our drive to Ipsala borders and right after the formalities we continue our trip to Turkey. Reaching Istanbul we will have the chance to enjoy a panoramic city tour including a visit to Spice market. Dinner in traditional kofte restaurant and overnight in Istanbul. (B,D)

Day 7: ISTANBUL TOUR

Following breakfast we will enjoy a full day tour of the city successfully married East and West. Highlights include Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque with blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior, the Suleymaniye Mosque, the Chora Museum with its mosaics and frescoes and the Grand Bazaar. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Istanbul. (B,D)

Day 8: ISTANBUL-BOSPORUS CRUISE

Today we will have free morning to enjoy this beautiful city on own. Afternoon Bosporus cruise. Not only does the Bosporus connect the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, it also separates the continents of Asia and Europe from one another. While watching Asia on one side and Europe on the other during the tour, you will see the modern side of Istanbul with the Bosporus Bridge and the historical side with the Rumeli Fortress, mosques and old mansions. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Istanbul. (B,D)

Day 9: DEPART

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
